Hi, we're Social Dog

A few years ago, my partner and I brought home a very cute, very small chihuahua mystery mix from Houston. It was winter in Vancouver and our tiny Texan girl was freezing.

I scoured the city - and internet - for sweaters to keep her warm on walks, but nothing I found was quite right. I wanted something that:

1. Suited her silly, fun-loving personality.

2. Reflected my passion for design and beauty in everyday things.

3. Aligned with my values around more sustainable, circular consumption.

So I started playing around with making them myself with leftover fabric from my own garment projects. They turned out verifiably cute, as evidenced by everyone in our neighbourhood coming up to say hi and ask about them. Strangers became neighbours, neighbours became friends, and Cricket and I were more social than ever.

As the sweaters improved and the community grew, I started looking at my tech career thinking, “Is this really what I want to do with my one precious life?” The answer was pretty obvious.
