Engineered wtih multi-purpose, small-apartment, on-the-go life in mind, the City bed features:

  • A washable mattress cover that rolls up and snaps shut to double as a portable mat, so your pup always has a comfy spot to rest

Material

Jumpers: Premium anti-pill fleece. We mostly use deadstock fabrics, so colours and textures may change with each collection.

Vesties: Premium anti-pill fleece lining, water-resistant nylon or cotton shell. We mostly use deadstock fabrics, so colours and textures may change with each collection.

Beds: Each bed is stuffed with a mix of deadstock and upcycled poly fill to give quality materials a second life.

Care Instructions

Jumpers: Machine wash cold, hang to dry.

Vesties: Machine wash cold, hang to dry.

Beds: When it's time for a refresh, the mattress cover unsnaps and goes straight into the washing machine. Wash on cold, hang to dry.

Transparency

All Social Dog products are designed, cut, and sewn right in Vancouver BC. Because we believe in transparency, here's a peek at how it all breaks down:

  • We carefully source fabrics from local suppliers with an emphasis on deadstock and social responsibility. This takes longer than blindly bulk ordering, but is the core of our ethos.
  • Each Jumper and Vestie takes about 90 minutes of skilled labour - 5 minutes to cut, 80 minutes to sew, and 5 minutes to QA and pack. At $25/h, that's $47.50. The cost of the materials varies, but we can average it at $10.
  • Each City bed takes 120 - 180 minutes of skilled labour and materials average $20.
  • This pricing leaves us a few dollars of revenue to put towards things like hosting this website, servicing our sewing machines, and R&D to keep improving and expanding our lineup.
